Once There was a Snowman

Yay!! It finally snowed! We had the first snowfall of the season today at about 3:00 PM. I know the exact time because it was right before school got out and I had about 15 students complaining about walking home in the snow. Since when do kids care about being out in the snow? (especially the first day it snows) Oh well, at least I was excited. Everything looks so awesome with the Christmas lights and the thin sheet of snow on top of everything. I have been waiting patiently to be able to blare all my Christmas music. And now I can!!

Hannah's Baptism

Spencer's niece Hannah got baptized on Friday and it was awesome. Her family is here all the way from Rochester, NY. Although Hannah wasn't feeling that well and had a bucket by her side, she looked beautiful and so clean and pure. Great job Hannah- we are so proud of you. Keep up the good missionary work in New York!

Happy Turkey Day!!

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone. It was my year, so we got to go to Grandma and Grandpa Egans house. Thanksgiving day was great- good food, good company and good fun. After eating Grandma's delicious dinner, we played games and hung out. Then went to Spencer's parents for dessert and watched Hairspray. Well- I did, at least. Spencer refuses to try and like that movie. Friday I went to three different malls and we got new IPODS which I am pumped about!! (Sorry Ryan) That day we had turkey sandwich leftovers at Grandmas, and Saturday the leftovers were made into turkey soup. Grandma out does herself every year! Saturday, Spencer went up to Hennifer and cut down our beautiful Christmas tree. I love having a real tree- it's awesome and smells so good. Then we went over to Spencer's parents for more pie and ice cream. 4 days of pumpkin pie- can't beat that!! Well, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. We all have so much to be grateful for. I thank Heavenly Father everyday for the awesome husband, family and friends I have in this life. Love ya all!!

Congrats to Annie and Josh

Annie and Josh got married last Saturday and the weather was awesome. She looked gorgeous and everything seemed to go smoothly. It was fun to get all dressed up, even if by the end of the night everyones feet were killing and we all had our shoes off including Annie. (actually the mother of the bride didn't even wear shoes at the reception-we love ya Marsha) They are now honeymooning in Cancun. (Lucky!) Pictures soon to come.

Better Late Than Never

Thanks to DAWG I finally figured out how to put a slideshow on my blog. Thanks Steffy!!

Good News at the Bitner home

It has been surprise after surprise at the Bitner home lately. Emily and Brian told us last Sunday that they are expecting another baby in June. Emily is about 9 weeks a long. And Lucas will no longer be the only grandchild.
Then on Tuesday, Alissa called and told me she is engaged! Let's be honest: we all knew it was coming, but it was good to hear it was official. We are so excited for both you two. Alissa and McKay met at their U of U ward this summer. They are such a cute couple and are totally perfect for each other. You can tell they are so in love. They are getting married on January 11th at the Salt Lake temple. Good job McKay! Way to go. We love you guys!

Dan in the MTC

Dan has been in the MTC for about 3 weeks now and is doing awesome. He is loving the Danish language and learning the discussions. His companion is from Australia (which is cool since my dad and Spencer's dad both served in Australia). I think he really wants to get out into the mission field and teach the Danish people, but he'll get there when it's time. We love and miss you Elder Bitner!!

Trick or Treat

I finally got my wish on Halloween! I got to have a Halloween party at our place. We had a cookie decorating contest, bobbed for apples, watched the old, scary movies on TV, and played mofia. It was quite the party. We had Cleopatra there, Harry Carrey, Ron and Hermione, Michelagelo, a skunk, a zebra, a monkey, a troll, a janitor, a red neck, and more. Happy Halloween!!

Disneyland

Spencer and I had the best 2nd year anniversary. It was my year to plan, so I decided to plan a surprise trip to Disneyland. It was so fun, especially since Spencer hadn't been since he was about 5 years old. The parks were all decorated with Halloween decorations and candy corns. I loved it. We did so many things everyday we were there. The first day we went to Disneyland and rode almost every single ride, then the second day we went to California Adventure. On Sunday we went to church in Huntington Beach and then visited the Newport Temple. That was awesome. It was so windy, but that made it not as hot. It was almost 80 degrees everyday we were there. After the temple we went out to the Huntington Beach pier and watched the surfers and walked on the beach. It was so nice to be there on the beach knowing it was snowing in Utah. On Monday we went to both parks. We decided to do all our favorite rides again that day. Our favorites were Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Grizzly Bear River Raft and Indiana Jones. The rest of the day we just relaxed and explored other things in the park that we had missed the days before. It was one of the funnest trips I have ever been on. It was fun to have 4 full day just being together. Happy Anniversary Honey!!

Annie and Josh

We are so excited that Annie has finally found her match. Josh and Annie are getting married on Nov. 17th in the SLC temple. Today she confessed that her biggest fear is having it sleet on their wedding day. We'll pray for ya, so that doesn't happen! They are having their reception that night in the Joseph Smith Memorial, in the same room Spencer and I had ours- so that should be way fun. We are so happy for both of you!

Elder Bitner in the MTC

Dan gave a great farewell talk a few Sundays ago and you could definitely tell that he is so prepared to go. We all went to the MTC on the 24th to drop him off. It was the typical MTC experience-lots of mixed emotions. You could tell that Dan was ready to make the next step and start his mission in the MTC. He will be there for 2 months learning the discussions, the Danish language, and all the other stuff to prepare him for Denmark. We are so proud of him and are praying for him everyday. He leaves for Denmark on December 26th, the day after Christmas.

Summer Fun

We had a fun, and crazy summer. We spent lots of time out in the sun and in the water. We went to Bear Lake over the 24th of July, where we learned to Surf behind our boat. We went up to Island Park to Dad's fishing cabin, where Dave, Linz, Spenc, and I almost got killed going down a river in a huge hail storm- I thougth I was going to die. And yes, I will admit that I was the biggest wimp out there. I also tried to go swimming at least once a week. Therefore, I got the horrible parasite that was going around in all the pools. I don't think I have ever been so sick in my entire life. Haven't been swimming since. Summer was fun, but I am excited for Fall. I love the changing leaves and am ready for some cooler weather. Summer was brutial here this year.

Lyman Lake

I never knew how awesome camping was till I camped in a trailer!! For Labor Day we traveled up into the Uinta's to spend the weekend out in nature. Spencer's grandparents are caretakers for a girl's campground up there called Lyman Lake. This was one of the funnest, most relaxed vacations we took this summer. So simple, yet so fun. We got to spend time with Spencer's extended family, canoe, go four wheeling, read TWILIGHT a lot, play horseshoes (we almost won the tournament) and eat lots of food!! I never knew you could be so warm, comfortable, and clean while camping.
