Anniversary Weekend

This weekend we officially celebrated our 3rd year anniversary and it was a blast. We went up to Snow Basin yesterday and went horseback riding. It was so beautiful up there and there was hardly anyone around. Then we went to check in at the Alaskan Inn up Ogden Canyon. It was so cool up there. They have a big lodge with rooms and then cabins all around. We stayed in one of the cabins. It was called the Kenai Cabin. It had a moose theme. It was so comfy and relaxing. The jetted tub was awesome!! Last night we went to dinner down at Maddox and then to see High School Musical 3 (Spencer said that was all for me). I can't believe he bought tickets to that movie and even went with me!! It was 100% cheesy, but fun. In the morning we got breakfast in bed delivered to our cabins. I opened the door and magically the food was there and no one was around. I felt so pampered. Today we just went shopping and hung out in Ogden for a bit and now we are back. Spencer did such an awesome job planning this year- good job Spenc!

Dan's Year Mark

Yesterday was Elder Bitner's one year mark. I can't believe he has been out that long. He is half way done and still loving it. He has been in the office for the past 4 months and will leave the office in about 2 more months. He is doing great and it sounds like his Danish is awesome. Looks like him and his companion went out and bought matching three piece Euro suits for the occasion!

Happy Anniversary!!

The day we got engaged: July 17, 2005
Our wedding day: Oct. 21, 2005

Our 1st year anniversary: We ate at The Roof
and stayed at Little America

Our 2nd year anniversary: Disneyland-Wahoo!

Today is our 3rd year anniversary!! I can't believe it has really been three years.  Everyone says how fast it goes and it's so true.  I couldn't ask for a better husband and best friend. I always have so much fun when I am with him, no matter what we are doing. Some of the cheap dates we enjoy on a regular basis are: walking to Maverik and getting a movie at RedBox, then grabbing some soft serve yogurt inside, going to the drive-in, going hot tubbing, coming home to watch The Office during our lunch breaks, going to the Kaysville $1 Theatre, and going for relaxing drives.
We switch off years planning our anniversary and this year is Spencer's year. Tonight we are going to dinner and exchanging gifts. This weekend we are taking a half day off, to go do something ?? Then we are staying overnight somewhere this Friday. I will fill ya in on all the details after Spencer fills me in!! I love you Spencer.

Vegetables

The update on the Blue Team is that we haven't been able to keep losing the 12.5 each week like we did the first week, but we are having a lot of fun. Sometimes it is frustrating when you try really hard and don't lose any weight, but we just have to keep reminding ourselves that we are doing this for fun and to be more healthy. I think we have lost around 16 lbs. so far. (which I think is still really good) This weeks challenge is to eat 5 cups of veggies a day!! We are excited to try and do this, but you can only eat so much celery, so if any of you have any great ideas or recipes for yummy veggies, send them my way!!

So Blessed

Something happened last night that made me feel very blessed this morning. Spencer and I went to Smith's at about 11:00 PM and then we watched TV till about midnight. We went to bed just as we always do, but when I went to leave for work this morning our garage door was wide open!! My heart dropped and I thought "we totally forgot to close the garage door last night!" Spencer is so good at double checking everything before we go to bed, but somehow we just overlooked that last night. Needless to say everything was still there. A goal of mine ever since we moved into our home is to not leave the keys in the cars, but I am ashamed we both had our keys in the cars (in the ignition) and Spencer's ipod was just sitting in his truck. As I am writing this I am still freaking out a bit! All I can say it that I feel so blessed this morning for being watched over. This is a huge lesson learned for us. I will never again leave the keys in the car, no matter what, and I'm sure we will triple check the garage and all the locks before going to bed.
